cohesion is the molecular attraction of a similar substance, like water that sticks together. Adhesion is the same thing just different substances sticking together. surface tension is a property of a substance that allows it to resist outside forces.

our seafloor map was very up and down. we had greatly varying elevations. wwe went from south america to australia. along the 39 south latitude. the western coast of south america has a very steep drop off, while the east coast of autralia does not. at one point along the way we dropped to -6000 meters , so there must have been a trench there.
